Regulations and Guidelines
- Regulation High School rules will be followed with the following exceptions:
- · A. Two Divisions – JV & VARSITY (Note: 8th grade teams may participate in the JV Division, please contact tournament officials if have questions about player eligibility) We use the current school year (2007-08) for eligibility. This year’s current graduated seniors are allowed to participate. If numbers allow, there will be a Gold & Silver bracket for each division.
- · B. 16 minute stop clock each half. Running clock is used if one team has more than 20 point lead with 8 minutes or less to play in the second half. If lead falls below 20 points, clock will again stop.
- · C. 5 minute halftime and 5 minute pre-game warm-up.
- · D. Game time is forfeit time.
- · E. Jerseys need only have a number on back with no number restrictions.
- · F. 4 time outs per game, no 20 second time outs.
- No locker rooms, balls, etc.. will be provided by the schools.
- Players may play on only one team. Player's eligibility will be checked by a current grade/report card, if requested. Players may play "up" in an older age group.
- Teams are not required provide a scorekeeper or clock operator for each game.
- Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated!!! A referee may remove players from the game or the tournament for inappropriate behavior. We do not allow or condone poor sportsmanship. This includes both coaches and parents!!!
- Teams may play any type of defense.
- Each tournament will have a director. Please direct questions to this individual.
- Tie breaker procedure is as follows. The 1st criteria is head to head competition. If a three way tie exists then a second method will be used and this method will be stated on the posted bracket sheets.
- Over times will be 2 minutes in length with regular clock operations. The clock will stop on all dead balls.
- Each tournament will provide 2 coaches passes per team and these can be picked up prior to the team's first game of the tournament at the gym.
- Refunds and scheduling at later dates are not possible.
- Any roster changes should be made to the gym director prior to the start of the team's first game. The roster for the first game will be the official roster, no changes are allowed after the first game. Grade/Report cards will still be used to determine eligibility. Teams should have these with them at all times in case of protest. Final eligibility will be made by the area director if weekend conflicts occur.
- ALL TEAMS AND COACHES MUST HAVE ALL NCAA PAPERWORK COMPLETED AND WITH THEM AT CHECK-IN. COACHES MUST HAVE CURRENT CERTIFICATION AND MUST HAVE ALL REQUIRED TEAM INFORMATION AT CHECK-IN. NON-CERTIFIED COACHES ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE.
